EECU and Cook Children’s raise more than $200K to serve local families
Wednesday marked another successful year for New County 96.3 KSCS and Cook Children’s annual Radiothon presented by EECU Credit Union. The event directly benefits families in the Dallas-Fort Worth region that visit Cook Children’s. This year’s Radiothon raised $205,449 to help patients and their families receive the treatment they need, whether or not insurance covers the cost.
EECU has a long history of serving the Cook Children’s family through financial support, employee participation and volunteering at events like the Radiothon. In addition to the credit union’s sponsorship support, EECU’s senior management team and employees worked the phone bank to accept donations throughout the morning. An EECU check in the amount of $4,000 was presented to Cook Children’s as a donation match.
“Cook Children’s makes miracles happen in the lives of patients every day; and we’re grateful to be a part of their work,” said EECU President and CEO Lonnie Nicholson. “EECU shares and understands the mission of helping Fort Worth residents and we know that the money raised here will truly change lives.”
In the last two years alone, the Radiothon has raised more than $325,000 to serve patient families, and is becoming a premier funding source for the health network. Although the 2015 Radiothon has ended, donations are accepted year-round online at cookchildrens.org.
