Making the most of online and mobile banking (Part 1)

If you are online reading this right now, chances are you already use EECU’s online banking services. However, if you are like me, you have a routine set of pages you visit when you go online and may have missed some of the great services we offer to our online and mobile users.

Did you know you can see your accounts at other financial institutions on your EECU online banking home page?

Our FinanceWorks™ tool allows you to connect to your external accounts by selecting a financial institution and providing login credentials (The credentials are encrypted and stored securely so your passwords are safe.). Once per day, FinanceWorks™ logs into your external accounts and downloads balances and transactions. The transactions are available in FinanceWorks™ and your balances appear both in FinanceWorks™ and on the online banking home page. This allows you to have one convenient place to see any deposits, loans or investments you have elsewhere.

Did you know you can make your EECU loan payment using a credit card or an outside checking account?

Even if you have a checking account with EECU, you may find it necessary on occasion to make a loan payment using your credit card or with a checking account you have elsewhere. Using the “Pay Loan by Card or E-Check” links in either online banking (in the Loans & Credit Cards menu) or (under Personal Services → Loans), you can go to our payment partner, HP Payments, to make your payment. You will need to know your account number, loan ID and the last four digits of the primary account owner’s Social Security number. Payments made by electronic check are free, while HP charges an $11 convenience fee to make a payment by credit card. Regardless of which route you go, as long as your payment is posted by 5:30 p.m. it will process at EECU the same day.

Did you know that you can find EECU branches, shared branching locations, and more than 55,000 fee-free ATMs using the locators at and in mobile banking?

Click on the Locations link at the bottom of the EECU mobile banking apps or the mobile webpage. If you are using the EECU app for iPhone or Android and location services are enabled, the locator will automatically find your nearest locations. From, visit the Locations & ATMs menu and select Find a Location/ATM. At the bottom of the page is a search tool that, like the mobile locator, will allow you to find locations near a city and state or in a ZIP code.

Did you know that you don’t have to wait for the holidays to do a Loan Skip-a-Pay, but can do it any time during the year online?

In November of every year we send out information to members with eligible loans that will allow them to skip one loan payment for a small fee. The idea has been to give people a little bit more spending money during the holidays. But maybe you prefer to have your extra spending money for summer vacation or some other event. If that is the case, you can go online and select Loan Skip-a-Payment under the Loans & Credit Cards menu. If you have eligible loans, they will display and allow you to complete the skip and pay the fee online. Keep in mind that we only allow one skip during any 12-month period, so if you already did one during the holidays, you will have to wait until 12 months have passed before you can do another one.

  1. Can I transfer money to a checking/savings account with other financial institutions?

    • Hi Janet! Yes, you can. In Online Banking, select the Move Money menu item and then External Transfer. You can then select whether you want to transfer money to another account you own or pay other people. The process is quick and easy.

    • Hi Aretha! The mobile app does not use push notifications, but you can set up text message alerts to notify you when certain transactions clear your account or when your balance drops below a certain level. To do so, log in to Online Banking on desktop and select “Additional Services” from the navigation bar. You will see “E-alerts & Text Banking” from the options in that menu. Here, you can register your device if you haven’t already, and begin receiving alerts.

  2. Does each branch have a notary? If so where would this information be located on the website ?

    • Hi Angela! This isn’t listed on our website, but all of our branches do have a notary on staff. Give your nearest branch a call to speak with them about your needs. I hope we’re able to help you out!

  3. How about correcting my password so I can access my account after hours….fix that…
