How to keep tabs on your EECU account by text message
EECU offers a two-way text banking service that enables you to see account information using text messaging on your mobile phone. To access the system you will click the E-Alerts menu under “Account Access” inside Online Banking.
To activate a new phone for Text Message Banking, click the “Activate” button.
You will then be taken to a page where you enter your phone number and view the terms and conditions of this service. Be sure and check the box noting that you’ve read and accepted the terms and conditions before moving on.
Your phone should then receive an activation code via text message, which you will enter on the next screen.
Then, you will configure options for your text banking experience. The primary account that you select will enable you to receive balance information for that account only by texting BAL. If you want balances for all of your accounts, you would text BAL ALL. You may also set up an account that can be used as a source account for transfers to your primary account.
For example, you might set up a checking account as your primary account and a savings account as your transfer source account. Then you could text TRANS 50 to transfer $50 from your savings to your checking account.
You may also choose to receive alerts regarding your primary account’s balance or when transactions above a certain amount clear your account. This is a great way to keep track of your account balance to prevent an overdraft.
Once the service is activated, you can begin using it immediately. Below is a list of commands that can be used.
|bal||View your primary account’s balance|
|bal all||View all your accounts’ balances|
|last||View the last 5 transactions on your primary account|
|bal chk||View your checking account’s balance|
|bal sav||View your savings account’s balance|
|trans||Transfer funds from your source account to your primary account|
|help||Receive help on keywords|
|stop||Deactivate Text Message Banking|
To deactivate the service through Online Banking, return to the E-Alerts home page and click the Deactivate link next to your phone number.
